Project Red—FPS Game Alpha Launches

Project Red is a mafia FPS game that has now launched its public alpha. It’s a welcome addition to Web3 FPS games, featuring team and 1v1 matches, mini-games, NFTs, and play-to-earn features. However, to play the alpha, players need to own at least one collectible NFT. The game runs on the Elrond blockchain, and players will need an Elrond wallet and native tokens to purchase NFTs and make purchases in the game. The team behind the project has revealed plans to open up the game to more players in the future and offer free-to-play options when it is officially launched. Recently the development team has been focusing on adding realism to the game while maintaining its fun factor. They have made their bug tracker and development planner public to be more open about their development process. 

Project Red will be the first FPS game on MultiversX, a well-known and trusted Web3 gaming platform. The game started off as a 2D collection of 5555 Mobsters from Elrond City, but it has since evolved into a fully-realized NFT game with an immersive, action-packed experience. The team has stated in its litepaper that the game also includes a P2E social hub, where users can access Web3 mafia games and gain access to perks and benefits such as a 3D render of their NFT characters and much more.
