FIFA introduces AI Football League
10 April 2023

Altered State Machine and FIFA have teamed up to release the beta version of AI League: FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. It's an exciting game that allows players to create and manage their own AI-powered football team. Aspiring managers can customize their players' AI skills, which determine their strengths and weaknesses, and try to lead their squad to the top of the leaderboards.

By blending AI skills, human players can introduce an added layer of complexity and strategy to the game. Additionally, players will soon be able to trade characters, further expanding the gameplay possibilities. The collaboration offers a fresh way for football fans to engage with their favorite sport.

Altered State Machine's decentralized system enables people to own, teach, and trade unique Artificial Intelligence through digital ASM Brains. The technology aims to make the Metaverse more exciting by introducing “Non-fungible Intelligence”. The partnership between Altered State Machine and FIFA began with a prediction game for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where players could win digital and physical prizes by accurately predicting real-world match outcomes. As a reward, all participating fans received four characters for AI League.

AI League features animated characters with vivid appearances, and their movements are governed by AI, which also establishes their individual strengths and weaknesses. Comparable to fantasy football or other sports management games, players assume the roles both of team coaches and owners. The game currently features maps inspired by global destinations such as Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Yaoundé, and Seoul.

AI League is a free-to-play game, but Altered State Machine plans to introduce an NFT marketplace for the game soon. Once launched, the game's characters will be turned into NFTs, and all future characters will also be represented as NFTs.

Altered State Machine and parent company Futureverse are rooted in Web3 and metaverse technology. Once the in-game marketplace opens, it will use Web3 technology to enable seamless trading between players. The open beta for AI League is available now for Android users to embark on their journey as football managers in this AI-powered football universe.
