Fashion Week Is Going Metaverse

Fashion Week is Going Metaverse
3 March 2023

Fashion Week is set to take on a new dimension with the upcoming Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW). The event is set to run from March 28 to 31 in Decentraland. It promises to showcase the latest advancements in digital fashion and the potential of a crossover bringing together traditional and digitally-native fashion designers. The theme for this year's edition is “Future Heritage”, which will explore the connection between innovation and tradition.

This year brings a wide range of curated experiences by global fashion brands. Dolce & Gabbana will feature an exhibition of winning designs from its "Future Reward" competition, while Tommy Hilfiger will host a community competition with the winner handpicked by the man himself. Other luxury brands, including Gucci, DKNY, Vogue, and Adidas, will also participate in the event, offering runway shows, exclusive events, and new NFT drops. In addition, Miami Fashion Week will participate in a digital fashion week for the first time. The Metaverse Fashion Week will also feature top Web3 fashion creators, such as DRESSX and FASHION ZOO, alongside digital fashion designers like Phygicode, The Fabricant, Altr, and House of Web3. Vogue Singapore will also reveal the winners of its digital fashion competition during the event.

The Luxury District inside the Decentraland metaverse's Genesis City will bring the top fashion brands together into the Web3 world. Attendees can look forward to exclusive shows and events, surprise NFT airdrops, and new collectibles from brands like Perry Ellis, Clarks, and Dragon City.

Last year's inaugural Metaverse Fashion Week saw notable attendees like Sophia the humanoid robot, created by Hanson Robotics. This year, the event promises to be even bigger and better, with the return of top luxury brands and the participation of Miami Fashion Week.

Metaverse Fashion Week 2023 is a must-see event for fashionistas, NFT collectors, and Web3 enthusiasts. With a plethora of exciting surprises and entertaining experiences, the event is set to showcase the potential of fashion to bridge realities and worlds. The Metaverse Fashion Week was pioneered by Decentraland and UDX in collaboration with Spatial OVER metaverses.
