Ember Sword MMORPG Announces Alpha Playtest

Ember Sword MMORPG Announces Alpha Playtest
17 April 2023

Ember Sword, an upcoming MMORPG, has announced its official Alpha Playtest phase. The game draws inspiration from classic MMORPGs like Ultima Online and Runescape, and promises an engaging and immersive experience for players worldwide. The game features a classless combat system, open-world PvP, and a player-driven economy. Bright Star Studios is the development team behind Ember Sword.

Ember Sword offers players the opportunity to embark on adventures together, sharing their experiences and knowledge. They can prove their worth and skills by taking on monsters, bosses, and even other players. Alternatively, players can choose a peaceful path and explore the world while gathering goods and collectibles. The choice of what to do and when is entirely up to the player! Each weapon type in the game has its own set of associated skills, and there are other classic RPG elements such as crafting. Ember Sword promises challenging end-game PvE, intense PvP battles, a living economy, and much more!

The Alpha Test

The Alpha Playtest will take place on April 18 and 19, 2023. PlayTest 1 will run from 10:00 CEST to 23:59 CEST on the first day, and PlayTest 2 will run for the same duration on the second day. A Beta release/second Playtest is also scheduled for August.

Ember Sword will host a live stream on April 17 before the Playtests. Senior Community Manager Thor Østenkær and Ember Sword Game Director Max Zimnukhov will be conducting a Q&A session, showcasing the current Alpha gameplay. The event will be live-streamed on the Ember Sword Twitch channel and later uploaded as a full VoD on their YouTube channel.

The game's five main questlines are "The Capital", "A Crafting Expedition", "The Bandit Threat", "The Treasure Hunt", and "The Arena". Each questline will provide a different experience, including various gameplay mechanics such as PvE combat, resource collection, exploration, puzzle-solving, and PvP combat. The expansive open world of Ember Sword will also be available for players to explore.

To participate in the Playtests, players must have a verified Ember Sword account. However, due to limited capacity, participation will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Players who cannot attend the first Playtest due to high demand will have the opportunity to participate in the next event in August. Each Playtest session will run for a limited time of up to 30 minutes. After the Playtest, players will be asked to provide feedback on their experience. Bright Star Studios values the community's input and will use it to improve the game's development.

The Ember Sword Alpha Playtest provides an exciting opportunity for players to preview the game's development and shape its overall experience through feedback. With two Playtests scheduled for this year, players have ample opportunities to participate and help improve the game.
